Westfield, MA – The ladies and gentlemen of the Western Mass Distance Project would like to invite you all to our house and show you that we like to party…
On October 20th the WMDP Blue™ will host its first ever cross-country meet; The WMDP XC Festival. The meet will consist of a Men’s Championship 8k and a Women’s Championship 5k. While both races are open to both men and women, we will only be scoring USATF registered men in the 8k and USATF registered women in the 5k as this meet will be the 4th leg of the USATF-New England Grand Prix.
The men’s race is set to go off at 10:00AM and the women’s at 11:00AM in the beautiful venue of Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts. The Park is a veteran in hosting cross-country meets, hosting the Westfield State – James Early Meet each year, as well as having been home to the Division III New England Alliance Championship, the MASCAC Conference Championships, and the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships. The club is also in high hopes that the venue will be home to the 2012 USATF-New England Club Championships.
We will keep you all updated with details as they unfold. Feel free to talk about this meet on runs, at work, to friends, family, co-workers, in an elevator to complete strangers, at the doctor’s office, waiting for an oil change – just talk about it!
You can take Franklin Park from us New England harriers, but we won’t stop getting our spikes muddy. Help us rally New England XC!

Guys: Sweet ad for the XC race. If you have any interest in advertising the event in the Sept issue of Level Renner, give me a buzz. We appreciate all the buzz you provide so would be willing to give you a major discount. Rates are pretty cheap to begin with–starting at $40 for a quarter page. I sent J. Ayer a FB message w/ similar info.
It was good seeing the gang at Carver. You guys are multiplying like rabbits.
