WMDP Heats Up The Competition at the 9th Annual Hot Chocolate Run

Northampton, MA – The Western Mass Distance Project had a strong showing at this year’s Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage 5K in Northampton. WMDP’s own Sonny Gamble won the race in 15:57 well ahead of a large red insectoid that came in second. Despite barely making it to the start line in time, the she-wolves did the baby blue proud as well. Sarah Romain finished 3rd in a time of 18:48 , and Amy Rusiecki finished 9th in a time of 20:01, just two weeks after competing in the Philadelphia Marathon. As they sipped hot chocolate post-race, the ladies were approached and asked for their views on how the race went. “Have you seen any marshmallows?” they cried out frantically, and scampered away in a blue blur.
